The Department of Engineering Physics (ENP) at the Air Force Institute of Technology, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking applicants for both a tenure-track and non-tenure-track position at the Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor levels, with an annual salary range of $75K-209K.
Applicants are being sought for the position of Assistant/ Associate/ Professor of Atmospheric Science. Interested candidates must have a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science or a closely related discipline. The successful applicant will focus on teaching graduate-level courses in support of our Master of Science in Atmospheric Science and Graduate Certificate in Basic Meteorology programs.

Requirements
We welcome applicants with various specialties within the Atmospheric Sciences, but the following skills and expertise are required and highly desired, respectively:
Required:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer programming skills in Python (MATLAB is a bonus)
- Strong desire/commitment to teaching Atmospheric Science at the graduate level
- Strong potential for both teaching and research
- Applicants must be United States citizens and currently hold, or be able to obtain, a secret security clearance
Highly desired:
- Teaching experience
- Climate modeling, including dynamical and statistical downscaling for quantifying environmental effects on industry and infrastructure; and/or
- Dynamics, Mesoscale Meteorology, and Numerical Weather Prediction; and/or
- Specific expertise in Arctic, Stratospheric, or Tropical Meteorology/Modeling; and/or
- AI/ML applications of Atmospheric Science; and/or
- Aviation Meteorology
