The successful candidate will have extensive experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular biophysics, single-molecule biophysics, and/or fluorescence microscopy, with preference given to applicants with experience working with ribosomes, RNA, and/or membrane proteins and/or using single-molecule biophysics and/or fluorescence microscopy. Moreover, the successful candidate will be passionate about the communication of complex scientific concepts and have strong writing skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong interest in the training and mentoring of junior scientists. Responsibilities will include assisting in the design, direction, performance, and oversight of independent projects aimed at characterizing the structural dynamics of biomolecules and investigating the contributions such dynamics make to biomolecular function; drafting and editing grant proposals, progress reports, and manuscripts; mentoring postdoctoral-, graduate-, and undergraduate researchers.
