Description
Associate Veterinarian: Where Clinical Excellence Meets Connection
We are looking for a collaborative Associate Veterinarian who values trust, curiosity, and professionalism as much as they value gold-standard medicine.
We believe that the best medicine happens when you have the time to think, the space to communicate, and a team that has your back. At our privately owned, AAHA-accredited practice, we aren't just looking for a clinician; we are looking for a person who wants to "put down roots" in a place where authenticity and mutual respect are the standard.
Why Our Practice is Different
We believe that to take care of patients, we must take care of our people. We’ve built an environment centered on inclusion, appreciation, and helpfulness.
Time to Focus: We schedule 30-minute appointment slots because we believe in thorough medicine. We protect your time so you can be your best self for every patient.
Supportive Leadership: Benefit from on-site, responsive owners (Drs. Michael Yackey and Cara Bradley) who are available for teaching and collaboration.
Empowered Staff: Our RVTs practice to the best of their ability and licensure, ensuring you have the high-level support needed to focus on being a doctor.
Collaborative Culture: We value honesty and effort. We aspire to be a place where you can be authentic, accepted, and committed to working well together.
We invest in technology to make your day efficient and your diagnostics precise:
Advanced Imaging: Wireless Ultrasound and fully integrated Digital X-ray.
In-House Diagnostics: We are thorough and curious; our team utilizes microscopy for cytology and well maintained IDEXX lab suite (CBC/CHEM/UA/Snap reader).
Modern Dentistry: Dedicated time for dental procedures with a focus on high-level oral health.
Innovative Spirit: We like to consider and adopt new technologies and tests to maintain our excellent standards of practice.
Our Benefits Package
Health: Comprehensive plans including California Choice Health, Dental (Choice Builder), Vision options, HSA ($50/mo employer contribution), DCFSA, and FSA.
Retirement: Roth and Regular 401K with a guaranteed 3% employer contribution (5% contributed for the last three years).
Professional Growth: $2,000 annual CE allowance (rolls over once), plus paid VIN and VetGirl memberships.
Covered Dues: We handle your association dues, licensure, DEA, and USDA.
Perks: Two weeks vacation (increases to three weeks after year five) and care for up to 5 personal pets at cost plus 10%.
We seek a person who understands the need to always work on their craft and treats others with kindness.
Surgical Skills: A competent surgeon comfortable with general practice procedures.
Dentistry: Skills in dentistry are ideal, or a strong willingness to learn.
Urgent Care: An interest in seeing urgent care patients when time permits; experience in emergency or internship training is a plus.
Values: A dedicated, honest, and collaborative person looking to practice medicine at a high level.
Enjoy a balanced schedule with NO after-hours or on-call responsibility. Closed Major Holidays.
Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (9am–6pm) and Saturday (9am–4pm at West Davis Vet Center).
Pace: 10 to 15 appointments per day; surgery and dentistry typically performed between 10am and 2pm.
Pay: Expected yearly Pro-Sal range of $130,000 – $188,000, with the potential to earn more by leveraging staff and urgent care.
Financial Security: Standard Pro-Sal contract with NO negative accrual.
