The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, possess attention to detail, work well in teams and have excellent organizational skills. A Bachelor degree in Neuroscience, Biological Sciences or related discipline is preferred. Previous experience in running / designing basic PK experiments using rodents for mitigation strategies.
Job Summary
Acts as operational laboratory manager to oversee general day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and protocols. Evaluates new products, negotiates vendor prices, and instructs staff and researchers in quality control and proper procedures.
Essential Functions
Candidate should have experience managing staff
Will work closely with other Principal Investigator ensuring all projects are on track.
Primary responsibilities will include performing will include overseeing all rodent studies. Experience training personnel, designing complicated 2x2x2 animal studies. Must have extensive experience with breeding colony maintenance, rodent injections, processing brain tissue for biochemical and histological experiments. Confocal microscopy. Perform general laboratory duties, such as making buffers and media. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
Physical Effort
Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to get around a university setting.
