- Postdoctoral Fellow in Ultrafast Optics/Microscopy/Statistical Physics
Description
Harvard UniversityPosition Details TitlePostdoctoral Fellow in Ultrafast Optics/Microscopy/Statistical PhysicsSchoolFaculty of Arts and SciencesDepartment/AreaRowland Institute at HarvardPosition DescriptionThe nature of equilibrium fluctuatiuons of ions, atoms and electrons on their native pico-attosecond timescale determine their dissipative properties and ultimately the limitations on device effeciencies. We are building an experimental system to probe these fluctuations in real time. We invite applications from postdoctoral candidates who are interested in this problem and who are equipped with the tools to address the challenges surrounding building such an experimental toolkit; from the ultrafast optics to the spatial resolution and statistical data analysis.Basic QualificationsPhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering or any field with relevant skillsets will be considered. Currently, expertise in digital signal processing, nonlinear optics, local probe microscopy (STM), statistical physics and on-the-fly high throughput programming are sought out, but this list is not exhaustive.Additional QualificationsAdditional considerations will be given to candidates with a strong grasp of mathematics.Special Instructions Contact InformationArjun Ashoka
